A LITTLE MORE ABOUT ME
I love being a mother. My children range in age from 15 months to 17 years old. I’m still shocked that I have new a baby I never thought I would find love after a divorce but I did and I am so thankful. I said never again but deep down I knew or hoped I would eventually marry again. “Never say, Never” 🙂
I enjoy reading, traveling, going to the beach and to the smokey mountains. I have been out of the country to Jamaica and the Bahamas. Jamaica is my favorite so far. In the future, I hope to travel to Africa, France, Cuba, and Dubai one day. One of my favorite things to do is scrapbooking and capturing memorable moments on film and video. I also love red wine and chocolate cake.
ABOUT ME AS A NURSE
I graduated from college with a Bachelor’s of Science in Nursing and later obtained a Master of Science in Nursing Education. I have experience in a variety of areas of nursing including; Medical-surgical, ICU, Emergency Room, Psych, Hospice, Cardiac, and as a nursing instructor.
What I love about nursing is the care and comfort that I am able to provide to my patients and their families. I love the flexibility of being able to move into different areas of nursing, increase my hours, or take a break when I want.
What I don’t like about nursing is the long hours when I do work and the lack of minorities in just about every area. Unfortunately, there are not many nurses who look like me in the areas that I work in. So this fact often times makes me feel like I have to try 10 times harder every day. No matter how long I have been a nurse or how good of a nurse I think I am, it is still not good enough to some people. I will delve into this topic a little in my blog.
Now let’s get back to what I like about it, OPTIONS! I love options as a Mom, as a nurse, and as a woman. Why separate them? I think of my life in categories and my goals are different for each. Some weeks I want to be a full-time stay-at-home mom, other weeks I want to go out and save the world. But at the end of every day, I want to be able to take care of my family, be present for them in every way, and kiss them every night. Furthermore, options to me equate to freedom. I like having freedom, the freedom to determine what I will & won’t do, what I teach my children, and how fast I have to live my life.
When I started out in nursing I had no idea I could be my own boss and own a company. I never wanted nursing to be my only source of income. Nursing is a physically demanding job and I don’t want to work myself into the grave. So, after I obtained my Master’s degree a light switch turned on almost simultaneously. It was GOD saying to me “you are more than just a nurse, you are so much more”. I received it and began my search for my future. In 2013, I started my search for independence. Then with the guidance of an exceptional mentor, I launched my very own health career training center. Grace Health Career Center, LLC provides BLS/First Aid training, medication administration training, and Nurse Assistant training.

GOALS of a CEO MOM
My definition of a CEO Mom is a woman who is managing all things related to motherhood, career/entrepreneurship, relationships, and finances. I have always wanted to start a blog in order to offer support and resources to other women and mothers. I believe once I learn a lesson I have to share it with someone else in order to help them not make the same mistakes. This blog will provide resources, tips for setting goals, and ways to overcome challenges. In addition, I will offer solutions to help moms navigate as CEOs in every arena of their lives.
Whether you are a nurse, mom, entrepreneur in the making or all three, I am here to help guide you. Goals of a CEO Mom wants to provide you practical resources for executing even the smallest goals in your life. I will also share my journey as a blogger, nurse, business owner, mom, a new homeschooler, and how I started over after divorce.
I hope you will stay a while and follow the journey. Don’t forget to subscribe for updates, goal challenges, tips and printable goal sheets. Stay Tuned!
